Strangers

Storytelling, Direction, Editing & Photography

I produced this little film with my friends Arielle and Angel, along with and a cinematographer I knew from my college January 1st of 2015 and it was one of the most exhilarating experiences to see a story I had drafted on a piece of paper come alive right before my eyes. It was around 9 hours of shooting and we were all so happy afterwards. I still remember the feeling!

After weeks of constantly bugging my cinematographer friend about the final edit, he’d finally admitted that he’d lost all the files. Something about moving homes and files getting corrupted. This feeling, I don’t want to remember. But it was bad enough for me not to continue making short films. Despite having wrote and storyboarded so many potential short films in my journals.

Anyhow, life happens and here we are, 9 years later. I’m getting into filming and video editing and producing videos again, and how can i not share this? Even if it isn’t a complete short film i’m still really proud to share the little i got to document with my own camera.

Huge lesson learned: back-up your files. Don’t be embarrassed to tell your team you want copies of files as backup in case of emergencies. Keeping a huge bookmark on this as i work on more videos, coming soon. Hope you’ll stay to see the end of possibilities I’ll have with storytelling through moving pictures—I’m just so excited to play again!
